We reviewed -controlled ovarian -hyperstimulation using GAM-agoinst.of IVFET program in EWHA Womans University Hospital from 1990 July to 1994 December.
The differences of superovulation outcomes to three different protocols of GnRH-agonist Long(n=9), Short(n=20) and Ultrashort(n=20) were analysed. The administration of GnRHagonist was begun on day 21 of the cycle in long protocol, on day 2 in short protocol and on day 2 but during only 3 days in ultrashort protocol. And the results were as follows.
1) There were no significant difference in age, duration of infertility and basal FSH level.
2) The duration of administration was significantly longer in long protocol than others. Total amounts of administrated gonadotropin were larger in long than others, but there is no significance.
3) Peak serum E2 level and retrieved oocytes were no significant difference in three groups.
4) Cleavaged oocytes number was significant difference between long(5.29¡¾ 2.56) and ultrashort(3.18¡¾ 1.67). Cleavage rate was long(80.4%), short(59.2%) and ultrashort(54.5%).
5) Pregnancy rate per ET was significantly higher in long(37.5 %) than short(25 %) and ultrashort protocol(5.6% ).
These results suggest that in GnRH-agonist superovulation, long protocol is superior outcomes than short and ultrashort protocol.
